Our Adelaide Masters held over the Easter weekend was an outstanding success, attracting 104 entries and we have received much national praise for our efforts and we encourage any of our members to watch the excellent streaming of the finals from our Facebook page.
The success is due to no small effort by the multitude of volunteers both within and outside of our club, and our Tournament Director Steve Hicks will be providing a full report in next week’s newsletter.
We again congratulate the winner, Gary Kelly (Warilla B.C. NSW) in a nail-biting win over Mitch Sidebottom (Tallygaroopna B.C. VIC) winning 25/23.
World Bowls 2024 - Congratulations Laini McGorman! Our very own Laini McGorman has had a brilliant first international tournament winning Bronze in the World Bowls Champion of Champions held in Auckland, New Zealand.Laini won 6 out of her 7 sectional games, beating South Africa in straight sets in the quarter final and in the semi final drew the first set, and lost by just 3 shots to last year’s champion, Anne Nunes from the United States of America in what can best be described as very trying conditions. The ABC congratulates Laini on such an incredible achievement and has made everyone at the club extremely proud of her efforts in representing Australia on the International stage!!
